Our Ethos

PART OF FOCUS 7′S ETHOS IS TO PROVIDE STABLE, SELF-EMPLOYED POSITIONS TO TALENTED NEW MEDIA ARTISTS IN OUR AREA.

Focus 7 is set up as a Social Enterprise.  We operate as a not for profit cooperative so all staff receive a fair, living wage and have a say in the day to day running of the company.  Any profits are used to subsidise a number of community productions and projects that we produce for free or very low cost each year.

Focus 7 is strongly committed to such issues as environmental sustainability and ethical trading, and is actively involved in urban regeneration.  We are committed to equal opportunities regardless or race, gender, sexuality and ethnicity.

As a company we believe that we have a duty to be part of our community’s economic and social development. To this end we provide subsidised training in multimedia and video and work closely with community groups.  We hope to inspire local people to forge meaningful careers for themselves, and encourage them to play an active part in their own community.

Part of our ethos is taking responsibility of all that we create so this means that we do not work for just anyone.  Companies involved in arms manufacture, unethical environmental, social or business practices are not part of our customer base.  We also do not engage in porn or other abusive industries.

We are working towards being carbon neutral and have solar power as part of our main office.  We strive to be part of the force of positive change required for the modern age.
